Evaluación del Riesgo de Sarcopenia en Personas que Viven con Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Humana

Objetivo: Evaluar el riesgo de sarcopenia en pacientes con lipodistrofia asociada al virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana en tratamiento antirretroviral, atendidos en una clínica ambulatoria en Belém - Pará. Método: Se realizó un estudio observacional transversal con 66 pacientes. Se aplicaron los protocolos SARC-F y SARC-Calf, calculando intervalos de confianza del 95%, razón de probabilidades, prueba t de Student e índice Kappa para analizar la concordancia entre escalas. Resultado: La muestra fue mayoritariamente masculina (54,5%) y predominó la edad de 40 a 59 años (56,1%). La lipodistrofia mixta fue la más común (83,3%), identificándose riesgo de sarcopenia en el 34,8% de los casos. El riesgo fue mayor en mujeres, con una probabilidad 6,54 veces superior (p=0,002), y se observó tendencia en edades avanzadas (p=0,051). Conclusión: El sexo femenino y la edad avanzada son factores de riesgo independientes, lo que destaca la urgente necesidad de cribado para mejorar la salud pública.
